So, finally managed to get to Estonia in summer, as opposed to the usual winter break. Spent a few days in Tallinn and Laulasmaa.
Couldn’t resist some of the token postcard type shots, as the view and the weather were stunning. Of course though, I shot a few of the preferred portraits of Lina and her family while there, using my now ancient 5D mkI and my 580ex speedlite. Trying to save for the MkII, or perhaps the MkIII once available!

Evening View From The Top of The Radisson Hotel (great spot for a cocktail!)
Had an interesting time recently working for the DowJones Newswire and Wall St Journal. I was able to lend my hand to both video production for the online department and stills photography for the european print edition. A great experience and great insight into global journalism. The first image, in black and white, was published on Thursday 25th March.

Sue Hubbard's 'Eurydice' Lines The Walls of A Southbank Underpass

Eurydice by Sue Hubbard (traffic)
“Any man who goes to bed before twelve is a scoundrel”, so say The Black Dove on St James’s St, Brighton. That quote, slightly adapted from one by poet, Samuel Johnson, is the motto of Brighton’s coolest drinking den and with opening hours of ‘four till late’, it seems to have relevance. I love it when bars inform of a closing time of ‘late’. It’s a little vague but suggests some flexibility should one desire to drink into the early hours.
The bar is a visual and audio treat, with 2 floors of cosy but cluttered space and vintage artefacts adorning the walls and floors. The music policy is just as eclectic and simultaneously vintage, offering everything from rockabilly to blues, jazz to dub and soul through to contemporary house and disco.
The drinks are different from your average boozing den too, with Sheppy’s award winning ciders, cotswold lager, international pale ales, organic wines and cocktails.
I’ve suddenly decided I don’t want to be a scoundrel…

Underground
I took a day out of the city and headed over to Woolacombe on the north coast of Devon. When the rain finally stopped and the low evening sun hit the bay, I caught this image of 3 ladies watching surfers from the cliff.

The following morning, a family make the way to the sea for a body boarding session.
