Thanks for visiting the site and joining me on my photo blog, which, will hopefully provide a week to week insight of the goings on in my world of photography among other things. It’s fair to say that I have been sceptical in starting this visual diary for various reasons. However, I hope it to help me think about and nurture my work in several areas. Firstly, I’d hope it to help in my own constructive criticism – where can I improve, both in my production methods and in developing my own photographic style.

When I started to take photography seriously, while studying, for some reason I had this stubborn desire to avoid looking at too much other work in detail. However, over the last few weeks or so, I’ve sourced many of my favourite images and covered the walls of my office space. This seems like an obvious thing to do considering an appreciation of visual imagery but for whatever reason, its taken me this long. I’ve not only added a new life to my working area but noticed how much I have actually been influenced by iconic images by established commercial and fine art photographers, both in subject matter and style. I’m starting to see a thread going through my work and I’d like to think you were too.
